The Fifth International Symposium on Peptide Receptors will be held jointly with Kinin 2009 which follows Kinin meetings held every other year (2007 Berlin/Germany; 2005 Lund/ Sweden). The meeting is supported by the Frey-Werle Foundation (www.frey-werle-foundation.org), an organization that promotes activities and awards related to studies of the kallikrein-kinin system. Two Foundation awards will be attributed during the 2009 symposium: the Gold Medal and Promotion Prize (recipients to be announced). The 2009 edition of Peptide Receptors is recognized as the First meeting of the Canadian Branch of the International Neuropeptide Society (www.inps.org). The aim of the International Neuropeptide Society (INPS) is to encourage interest in biologically active peptides through active semi-autonomous branches.
This scientific meeting will be held in the historical and stylish City of Québec, Canada, from Friday June 26 to Tuesday June 30, 2009.
The goal of this multidisciplinary symposium is to bring together outstanding scientists from around the world to discuss the most recent developments and future trends in basic and clinical research on a variety of peptides, neuropeptides and G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCR).
The main focus will be on drug discovery based on GPCR structures, molecular pharmacology, development of peptide and non-peptide agonists and antagonists, cardiovascular and endocrine physiopathology, pain and inflammation, neurological and neuroendocrine disorders and psychiatric diseases.
